How fast and how are orders shipped?

Items on the website, unless otherwise clearly noted on the product page, are in stock and are guaranteed to be shipped the next business day. 

We use both UPS and USPS Priority Mail, except for orders under $40 which will ship USPS trackable First Class. 95% of orders are packed and shipped the same day if I get the order before 2-3PM; at worst your orders are on their way the next business day. Keep in mind no packages are shipped on weekends and Federal holidays when the post office and UPS are closed, even when we're open.

We CAN ship to US military bases using USPS. Due to the increasingly unreliable and expensive USPS system, UPS is now our main shipper but if you use a PO Box or for some other reason need to use USPS, please be sure to email me (just hit reply to your order confirmation - that goes right to me).

WE CAN ALSO SHIP ALMOST ANYWHERE INTERNATIONALLY. Just email me with what you want to order so I can accurately calculate your shipping costs and enter the appropriate export/import HS codes for each product. You are responsible for any and all taxes and duties charged in addition to the shipping cost. See the Contact Us page for emailing. I respond QUICKLY!

For express shipping, please request express shipping by replying to the order confirmation email immediately upon receipt or call the store during store hours and I will process your shipping charges over the phone once I get your authorization for the appropriate speed and price. Express shipments also get shipped the next business day.

What is your exchange/refund policy?

Sometimes something that looks perfect online just doesn’t work in person – it’s just how it is. We recognize that, so we offer a fairly straightforward return policy for online purchases within the first two weeks after purchase. Simply pack the item up securely, ship it back to us insured for the full retail value of the item using a trackable delivery service like USPS Priority, Fedex or UPS.

Upon return to the store, we will only refund the same credit card used to purchase the item. Items returned to Arcadia MUST be in original, saleable condition with all packaging in original condition. Items purchased from the Clearance Section are not returnable, and items purchased at a discounted price will only be refunded the discounted price at the time it was purchased.

For purchases in our Provincetown store, we do not offer refunds unless the product is defective. We offer an exceedingly generous exchange policy though; Arcadia has always accepted exchanges with a receipt only at ANY TIME, no matter how long you have had the product, as long as it is in original, saleable condition with all packaging in original condition. We want you to love your purchases – if you don’t love it, bring it back and lets find you something you really love!

How do I purchase greeting cards on your website? 

Because we ship for free, we've never been able to offer our greeting cards on the website. Obviously, we can't ship you one greeting card for free - we would be losing money on that! HOWEVER. The newest tech now allows us to set up the site so that as long as you purchase ANY non-greeting card item on the website, you can then purchase our greeting cards as well. Since we cover the shipping for even a pair of socks, adding in a card or 10 is easy. Note - you must put a non-greeting card item into your shopping cart first, before the card selection will become visible to you.

Choose as many cards as you like, or just one. You can also have us write a message in a card for you in the Custom Message box on each product page. So, for instance, if you are buying a birthday present for your sister, you can also purchase a birthday card, tell me the message to write in the card (up to 150 characters please) and I will ship the present and the card directly to your sister.

All packages always ship with all price tags removed, no pricing on the packing list, and if the purchaser and recipient are different, the purchaser's name is always included on the shipping label. So your sister will know exactly who the gift is from!

Please note - checkout will not allow you go complete the transaction if you delete the non-greeting card item from your shopping cart. You will get a prompt to add a non-greeting card item to your shopping cart before checking out.

I have an old store credit from your store in NYC. Can I still use it?

YES! a store credit is good until you use it. Call me or email me with the receipt # (top right corner) and if it’s seriously faded, if you can make out any part of it, I can probably find it in the computer and get you a new one. I can also create a discount code for you to use on the website if you won’t be visiting Provincetown any time soon.

Why don’t I pay sales tax on your website but I do in your store?

Sales tax is payable when a physical transaction takes place in one state, payable to that state. Interstate commerce is traditionally only taxed by the Federal government, so while your state may require you to report purchases made out of state in your yearly state tax forms, we are not required to charge you your state’s sales tax at the time of your purchase. Orders shipped within Massachusetts will be charged Massachusetts state sales tax of 6.25%. Purchases made in our store but shipped out of state are also not charged sales tax – and remember, shipping at Arcadia is always FREE!
