Reclaimed Wood Sea Horses
Offered for the first time ever on Cape Cod!
Mark Cahill was a corporate worker for his professional career until his retirement in recent years. He has spent virtually all of his summers since birth on Cape Cod, most recently in East Dennis, with winters in the Finger Lakes region of NY since retirement.
During the early days of COVID he began exploring woodworking, scavenging driftwood and reclaiming wood pieces from old barns, sheds, fields, and most especially from beaches. Saltwater, sun and time aged the wood beautifully, with the knots and shapes telling him what he should make of each piece.
No two are ever alike; after cutting and sanding, he finishes each with flame to bring out the grain and polyurethanes the piece with a matte finish to protect it without ruining the look.
Seahorses measure approximately 9" tall by 4.5" wide by 1.5" thick and weighs 9 ounces. Each piece is signed and dated on the back and has a secure wire for easy hanging. May be displayed outside but expect some bleaching and fading over time.
Handmade in East Dennis and NY
