Cape Dorset Large Dancing Bear

Hand carved by master artists of the First Nation Inuit community of Cape Dorset, Nunavut, in the Northwest Passages of the arctic region of Canada, this polar bear is made of serpentinite or soapstone.
Each piece is completely one of a kind sculpture and comes with a certificate of authenticity including artist information. All First Nation work at Arcadia is purchased either directly or from artist co-operatives to insure that the artists profit directly.
The artist signed his name on the bear's foot in Inuktitut which is the Inuit language. Sounded out, the syllabics read, A Ta Mi (Adamie) Ma Tu A Si (Mathewsie)
Measures 6" tall by 2.5" by 2" and weighs 2lb.
