Titanium changes colors as it is heated; the artist carefully applies her blowtorch to the titanium to create this amazing almost Lapis-like blue coloration, then she carefully hammers the entire surface to create an amazingly lifelike woodgrain texture and look. Even the edging is hammered to complete the effect. The color is permanent - it will never wash out or fade.
